SOLO, the originator of the wilderness medicine training and certification system, now has a home in the Southeast: Nantahala Outdoor Center.
SOLO wilderness medicine certification is recognized by organizations such as state EMS licensing boards, professional guiding organizations, the US Coast Guard, the American Camping Association, the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) and countless others.
SOLO-certified guides enjoy employment at Outward Bound, the Appalachian Mountain Club, as well as camps, ski patrols and other similar organizations. SOLO Southeast to offer Wilderness EMT Course
The highest level of wilderness medical training, the WEMT intensive course is coming to SOLO Southeast this winter. The four-week program prepares students who work or plan to work as professional medical personnel, in areas far from traditional care. Upon completion, participants are eligible to take state and national qualifying exams. Don't miss this opportunity for the highest level of professional development!
